Ikeja Electric Assures Maximum Utilization Of Newly Commissioned 2 X 60MVA Power Transformer At Odogunyan

The Management of Ikeja Electric has revealed plans to ensure maximum utilization of the newly commissioned 2 X 60MVA transmission substation to wheel more power to its customers at Odugunyan, Agbede, Odonla, Odokekere, Ogijo, Odogunyan industrial areas, Igbosoro, Ita-Oluwo, Poboyejo, Greatwall and environs.

Speaking at the commissioning, MD/CEO, Ikeja Electric, Dr. Anthony Youdeowei represented by the Chief Technical Coordinator, Engr. Sunday Oyewole, conveyed Management’s appreciation to the Hon, Minister of Power, Works and Housing Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN and the TCN team for the laudable achievement. Stating that the company’s challenges in meeting the power supply demand of customers in Odogunyan and Ikorodu axis will drastically reduce as Six Feeders will be radiated from the new Transmission Substation, including Mega Steel (25MW), PZ (5MW), CHIKKI-CHIKKI (10MW), Pulkit (10MW), Agbede (14MW) and Odogunyan (25MW). The attendant result will be the much needed relief of Ikorodu Transmission Station, which over time had suffered overload.

According to him, the company has embarked on rehabilitation and network expansion on its aging infrastructures for excellent service delivery to its customers. The development has witnessed the replacement of Power Transformers at Mangoro and Adekunle Fajuyi Injection Substations. Other upgrades include the rehabilitation and commissioning of Maryland, Ogudu and Iju Injection Substations, while Power transformers were also reconditioned at Oke-Afa, Alausa, and Adaranijo Injection Substations. “Rehabilitation works are currently ongoing at Ilupeju and Alaja Injection Substations Substations where all the 11KV panels will be replaced with new ones to boost reliable power to the areas”, he said.
